Consolidação da FRETILIN em Laga (Baucau) / FRETILIN's Consolidation Meeting in Laga (Baucau)

A FRETILIN realizou hoje, 22 de Marco de 2007, a Consolidação do Partido em Laga (Distrito de Baucau), com a participação de mais de 6 (seis) mil pessoas.

Laga, local onde Ramos-Horta anunciou a sua candidatura a Presidente da República na presença de não mais de 300 (trezentas) pessoas, demonstrou estar pronta para continuar a trabalhar com a FRETILIN.

No encontro, o Secretário-Geral do Partido, Dr Mari Alkatiri, disse que “o CNRT de agora é o filho da crise para perpetuar a crise”.

Alkatiri disse também que alguns dos candidatos a Presidente da República, por aquilo que prometem, não conhecem a Constituição de Timor-Leste nem quais são as suas competências.

“Se forem eleitos irão interferer nas competências do governo, gerando novos conflitos”, disse Alkatiri.

O Presidente do Partido, Francisco Guterres “Lu Olo”, tal como em Los Palos, falou sobre a necessidade de por fim a crise.

Presidente Lu Olo insistiu na necessidade de repor a autoridade de Estado, e que tal só sera possível com a vitória da FRETILIN nas duas eleições (presidencial e legislativa) com maioria qualificada de votos.

FRETILIN carried out a party consolidation meeting in Laga (a sub district of Baucau) today with the participation of more than six thousand people.

Laga, the location where Ramos-Horta announced his candidacy for the presidency of the Republic and attracted an attendance of no more than 300 people, demonstrated its readiness to continue to work with FRETILIN.

During the meeting, the Secretary-General of the Party, Dr. Mari Alkatiri, said that "the CNRT of today is the progeny of the crisis to perpetuate the crisis."

Alkatiri also said that some of the candidates to the presidency of the Republic, for what they have promised, do not have any knowledge of Timor-Leste's Constitution or what falls within their (the president's) competence.

"If they are elected, they will interfere in the areas within the government's competence, creating new conflicts", Alkatiri said.

The President of the Party, Francisco Guterres "Lu Olo," as in Lospalos, spoke of the necessity to put an end to the crisis.

President Lu Olo insisted on the necessity to reestablish the authority of the State, and that this will only be possible through a FRETILIN victory in both elections (presidential and legislative) with an outright majority.
